Web 2.0

After reading the Time magazine article about how we are the people of the year in 2006 it actually makes me even more nervous for the future of Web 2.0. One of the biggest worries in American culture today is the problem of obesity. With the ever expanding World Wide Web, while it's making it easier for people to get information out; it is also making laziness, identity theft, and identity fraud easier. When things such as Facebook and MySpace are used for networking and keeping in touch with people they are very useful and helpful to society. However, when they are used to meet people and as dating services they become exponentially more dangerous, because there is actually no way to tell who you are talking to on the other side. As for what the future holds in store for the World Wide Web, there is no telling where it could go, 20 years from now we could never have to leave our living rooms to do anything. But in my opinion that would be one of the worst things that could happen to America.
The article I read was Web 2.0 Does Work, which more or less just reinforced what the Time magazine article was talking about. It mentioned how services such as Second Life and MySpace have allowed people to start networking and meeting new people, and maybe even starting the life that they have always wanted.

Microsoft Word

My previous expierence with Microsoft Word, primarily deals with writing papers. However, I have also used it to make flyers, mail merges, and other forms of media as well. I would like to talk about more of the drawing aspects of word, because that it was I'm not as familiar compared to the other options of word. I'm also using word 2003 still because the new version has not come out for Mac.
